About the Artist
I was born and raised in the Quad Cities area, and I have been creating for as long as I can remember. Art has always been a constant in my life. I sold my first piece in my early twenties, but the impulse to create began long before that.
My first love in the visual arts was charcoal. I was drawn to its rawness, immediacy, and the way it allowed emotion to surface openly. Over time, that relationship deepened into acrylic painting, which now serves as a primary medium in my practice. Even so, I do not see myself as limited by medium or category; each material is simply another language.
My Creative Process
When I create, I pour my thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences into the work. Making art feels less like a choice and more like a necessity. Ideas linger until they find their way onto the canvas, and the act of painting becomes a form of release and clarity.
My process balances intuition and intention, structure and spontaneity working side by side.
Themes & Philosophy
Certain themes emerge again and again in my work: feminism, freedom, transformation, and emotional truth. While the human figure often appears in my paintings, I resist being boxed into a single category. My practice is fluid and constantly evolving.
Ultimately, I want my work to invite viewers to see the world through a softer, more hopeful lens. I see my art as storytelling, exploration, and healing, not just for myself, but for anyone who connects with it.
